Apple appoints new CEO to succeed Tim Cook
On April 20, Apple announced that Tim Cook will assume the role of executive chairman on September 1, while hardware chief John Ternus will succeed him as CEO.
The company stated that Cook will remain in the CEO position over the summer and collaborate with Ternus on the transition.
This transition will mark Apple’s inaugural CEO change since Tim Cook succeeded co-founder Steve Jobs in 2011, immediately prior to Jobs’ demise.
Ternus will assume the role of Apple’s seventh CEO.

Apple said that Johny Srouji will assume the position of chief hardware officer, succeeding Ternus in an enhanced capacity.
Under Cook’s leadership, the company’s market capitalization surged almost 20 times, reaching US$4 trillion on April 20.
